Ten Best Smartphones Today

All smartphones are not equal, some are more equal. We have selected best 10 smartphones on the market today.
      1. Apple iPhone 4

OK, Android is conquering the world, but here is one warrior holding its fort. While Apple’s iPhone 3GS was only a slight upgrade over the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 powered by the new iOS4 was more than a welcome change. The iPhone 4 satisfied one and all with the backing of some superlative hardware and a software experience that still outpaces all of its rivals in terms of ease of use, responsiveness, polish, and third-party software. It still lacks the widget capability of Android and now Windows Phone 7, but the iPhone 4 can easily be selected as the top most smartphone of 2010.

2.       HTC EVO 4G
HTC EVO 4G has many firsts to its credit, the first smartphone with a screen larger than 4-inches, the first 4G smartphone in the US, the first major smartphone with an 8.0 megapixel camera and  the first smartphone to have a kickstand (for video viewing). Appropriately called as the “Hummer of smartphones” because of its size and the fact that it’s high consumption of battery power, but EVO 4G has set the standard high for existing and future smart phones, for sure.

3.      Google Nexus S
Developed by Samsung the Google Nexus S, Google Phone did not disappoint us. Android OS powered Google Nexus S is available under traditional contract with T-Mobile. Powered by Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) and ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and with Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, this one backed by Samsung and Google is a steal. Google Nexus S is not yet available in India.

4.      Samsung Galaxy S
Samsung with its line of Galaxy S smartphones with a host of different form factors has made a big impact in the Android phone world, in many countries. The Galaxy S series with different and confusing names is available with all the four US wireless carriers as well. In the US, the Samsung Vibrant and the Samsung Epic 4G were the most impressive of the Galaxy S phones, but all of the models across the globe have same technology base and generally provide a very good Android experience.

5.      HTC Desire
The Desire powered with Android OS, v2.1 and Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor quickly became one of the most popular smartphones in Europe and Australia by mid-2010. Along with the Nexus One and the iPhone 4, the Desire feels like the most substantial and high quality smartphone on the market. Keep in mind that  HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z are also out there.

6.      Motorola Droid X
Droid X from the Motorola stable adores Verizon which is slowly replacing BlackBerry with Android as its primary smartphone platform. The Droid X served as Verizon’s flagship Android phone, with its huge screen, 8MP camera, enterprise-class hardware, and extensive list of high-end features.

7.      Samsung Focus
Samsung Focus is the first major Windows Phone 7 smart phone. The Focus came with Microsoft Windows Phone 7, Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor, Super AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen and a 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus camera with LED flash did not disappoint. Windows Phone 7 can become a good contender for and the iPhone OS.

8.      HTC Incredible
CDMA phone HTC Incredible comes with Android OS v2.1 (Eclair), Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650 1 GHz processor, 8 MP, 3264x2448 pixels, autofocus camera with LED flash and 8GB built in storage.  HTC Incredible also comes with Sense UI. The Sense UI provides a smoother interface to the stock Android interface. It is like Motorola Blur and Samsung Cube. The downside of the Sense UI is that it can delay getting an update to the latest Android OS.

9. Motorola Droid 2

The Droid 2 inherits all the goodness from its original version, its more than suitable if you’re looking to upgrade to or to buy a new high end Android phone with a QWERTY keyboard. This CDMA phone powered by Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo), TI OMAP 3630 1.2 GHz processor, 3D graphics accelerator, 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus camera and with TV-out (720p video) via HDMI port is a player no one can avoid.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a bit underpowered, with the BlackBerry 6 OS BlackBerry Torch which in isn’t great when compared to iOS and Android, and the 624 MHz processor CPU doesn’t help either. But, with a new form factor with a slide-down keyboard is still having fans in the enterprises sector.
