The Compaq Presario 900 notebooks uses Athlon processors and these notebooks were first to use RADEON IGP 320M chipset. This Compaq Presario 900 model is user friendly and all the functions can be easily done. The Compaq notebook has two speakers that are mounted in the front panel and the design of the notebook gives the traditional look and it comes with integrated FDD and CD-ROM. The user can easily upgrade the notebook and it comes with in-built modem. The Compaq Presario 900 is fully equipped with the cooling system which protects the notebook from over heating.

The Compaq Presario 900 uses the AMD mobile XP 1.4GHz processors and it also has IEEE-1394 controller. The wireless LAN controller antenna is constructed in the top cover of the notebook. The keyboard of this laptop is made out of plastic and separate functional keys are given to increase the accessibility of the notebook. The CD-ROM can also be accessed using these keys in Compaq Presario 900 and the infrared ports are attached to this model.
